Setting refresh rate at 1280x800 at 86Hz
By default, my monitors supports up to 1280x800 with 75Hz refresh rate. But if I use Nvidias control panel, I can raise the refresh rate to 86Hz. What I want to know is whether this will make my monitor broken faster? For information, my monitor Samsung SyncMaster 753DF , old stuff. Answer: If the monitor supports the resolution and refresh rate, there is no problem. By the way, does the monitor has a driver CD? If it has, try installing the manufacturers driver. It can usually provide a better resolution and refresh rate. But if the monitor doesnt support the refresh rate youve set for it, in the long term, it is not good for your aging monitor.
